My name is Mary Elizabeth Miller and I am a graduate student studying Industrial Design at North Carolina State University. This website is a part of my final project, wherein I am working to better understand how social media can be used to conduct quality design research that contributes to the development of human-centered products that better meet the needs of their users.
You can be a part of the process!
Share ideas and join a united community working together to develop new products that better suit your needs. Products that you want to have and products that you have helped create!
How many people have time to cook dinner at home every night? I know that I don't! Today fewer and fewer Americans are cooking dinner at home; they are opting to go out and to the drive-thru. It is faster and easier for most but in actuality this decision is worse for their health and wallet. When cooking dinner at home people can regulate what ingredients are use and portion sizes thereby providing the opportunity to make healthy decisions that are lost when ordering at a restaurant. Not to mention the money you save by cooking at home.
So why are so many Americans eating out? What would help people to cook dinner at home more often without forcing them to put in hours of work?

Hey wooorld. Thought I would share a cooking experience from the other night..
So, I had some extra ground lamb leftover from Super Bowl last week and didn't think I could stomach yet another burger, so I decided to make a Ragu.
Started out by googling a few random recipes to get a basic idea of what ingredients I wanted to add. I stopped by the grocery store after work and picked up a few extra things that I knew I didn't have at home.

Co-Active Design Project is a social networking site where members work together to solve design problems and develop new product solutions.
The focus of this project is to better understand what is difficult about cooking at home. On average 25 percent of Americans eat out 2 to 3 days a week. Co-Active Design Project’s members have defined planning for meals, along with controlling portion sizes as a difficult part to cooking at home. These surveys aim to better understand how planning a meal can affect our ability to cook dinner at home.
Please take some time to fill out these surveys. Only 10 questions each, and should take less than 10 minutes.
Thank you!
